There have been several comments recently by members regarding the courts getting slippery and I would like to try to improve things as soon as possible
I have had a quick look into professional court cleaning services but the quickest and most cost effective way of improving things will be for us to clean them ourselves. This will require removing the moss from around the edges of the playing areas (particular at the far end) and then treating the whole area with a chemical moss and algae killer.
The moss can be shifted relatively easily with a stiff yard brush. The club has the necessary chemicals in stock already and I will sort out a backpack sprayer to deploy them.
I am organising a work party for Sunday 8th October, starting at 10:00 am. All help will be most welcome! The most important tool to bring will be a stiff brush. Also, a few shovels, garden bags and the odd wheelbarrow (for clearing the moss away) would help. If anyone has a backpack sprayer that would help too.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the day!
